BACKGROUND
Integrated Service for AIDS Prevention and Support Organization is an indigenous, non-government organization established in October 1997 and registered with the Ministry of Justice with a legal status as of October 27, 1997. It was also re-registered as per the new CSO legislation in October 26, 2009.
VISION
ISAPSO aspires to see a society free from HIV/AIDS/STIs. Its mission is to initiate, promote and sustain HIV/AIDS/STIs prevention, Care and Support RH/FP & ARH education and services to communities between 15-49 & 10-24 years of age.
GOAL
To enhance individual and social change conducive to the reduction of HIV/AIDS/STIs and the promotion of safe sexual behavior.
OBJECTIVE
To contribute to the efforts made in the country in reducing the spread of HIV and to minimize the impact of HIV/AIDS through livelihood improvement.
In its thirteen years of intervention it has covered different population groups from different walks of life, like transport workers, CSWs, students of higher learning institutes, secondary and primary schools students and out of school, youth, construction workers, factory and farm workers, housewives and single women house hold heads, refugees and the general population.
Its major area of interventions are HIV/AIDS prevention, Care and Support, RF/FP and ARH education provision and IGA scheme for HIV/AIDS infected and affected people, youth and economically poor and vulnerable women. In the care and Support it is addressing over 7000 OVC in different regional states and over 250 PLWHA in Addis Ababa.
